Reese is a 9 year old rhesus macaque monkey who is the newest rescue here at Misfitland Monkey Rescue.. Reese has REALLY come into himself since moving in.. He’s a REAL monkey now!!! He is sassy and thick headed ESPECIALLY WHEN IT COMES TO FOOD!!! This is NORMAL monkey behavior so he is NOT being bad!! He is just being a monkey and I LOVE that he is feeling SO GOOD and SO TOUGH!! He is bursting with life and I LOVE that about him.. He owns me.. Life is too short to fit in!!

Until moving in here Reese was kept totally on the inside in a cage.. He had been outdoors as a baby monk walking beside his Human from what we were told but one day climbed up high and gave him a hard time catching him.. This terrified the owner, and at that point he was permanently kept inside.. He grew over the next 5plus years he was in that cage as you can imagine yet his mind became SAFE in that small area.. Here at Misfitland we do our absolute best to offer our rescues the best of BOTH worlds that their hearts desire.. Monkeys here have the option to go outside ANYTIME they want!! They have their own doors in and out where they can either have the life they have been taught television, soft beds, toys, food, fresh water, etc OR the life God built them for hunting, climbing, swimming, soaking up sunshine and fresh air, or just napping to take a break they do it in their time on their own book.. It took what felt like month for Reese to even come outside!! As a matter of fact I have to repair the outside door because I broke it off trying to squeeze myself into it trying to convince him to COME OUT and check it out.. It took him SOOOOOO LONG that I started thinking MAYBE THE HOLE IS TOO SMALL??? I mean we did try to make it as heat saving as possible and actually built an insulated hallway/tunnel that they have to pass through in order to get out.. I was honestly starting to think that HAD to be the problem because WHYYYYYYY wouldn’t he wanna check out the OUTSIDE???? Turns out it was just that BIG and scary to him.. After he FINALLY came out he would NOT and I do mean would NOT go down to the ground!! Which is hysterical because when he first moved in he refused to climb UP!! He stayed on the bottom of his cage just looking at the hammocks, soft bed, and swings.. I could tell he was curious about them but he didn’t go UP for over a week.. He absolutely LOVEZ his quail eggs and BANANAS!!! I have had monkeys over 26 years now and Reesie Cup is the first monkey that I have ever had that LOVEZ BANANAS!!! True Story!! I always throw quail eggs all over the monkeys pens so they can hunt them.. I of course had done this for Reese as well.. You should have seen him climb down lower on the fence reaching out to retrieve them without getting down.. He acted like it was quick sand and avoided it like the plague!! I would always make sure to through some little bit further, trying to force him, but it wasn’t until one day we were out working that Ronnie spotted him down in the grass.. WHAT A BEAUTIFUL SIGHT TO SEE!! Now he will come out his door and bounce straight down to the mini trampoline then straight to the ground without hesitation!! IT MAKES MY HEART SOOOOOOOOO HAPPY TO WATCH HIM BE A MONKEY!! I try to tell others not to put a bottom in their monkey cages for THIS reason right here!!! Monkeys can spend up to 7 HOURS A DAY EATING!!! Now let’s face it that isn’t supposed to be sitting at a buffet bar indulging on processed food.. They need to HUNT/EAT for up to 7 hours a day.. They need to EXERCISE while finding their MAIN FOOD SUPPLY!! Exercise is EQUALLY as important as DIET when it comes to ANYONES health!! If you are getting proper exercise and diet treating yourself with snacks/deserts is not going to be a life threatening problem.. It is no different with nonhuman primates.. Their MAIN DIET NEEDS TO BE NATURAL with LOADS OF EXERCISE to be healthy!! YES PLANTS, GRASS, and WEEDS are part of the healthy hunting diet monkeys needs and deserve!! I can not wait for him to experience his first grasshopper season!!! It took me a few YEARS to figure out WHY my monkeys would almost quit eating anything I was serving them at that time!! They didn’t act sick nor loose weight, as a matter of fact it was like they gained weight but they were not hardly touching their plates.. Finally after a few years of the same time of year it kept happening my lightbulb came on!! THEY LOVE GRASSHOPPERS!!! Even more than they love crickets and mealworms!! I can’t wait to see Reese when this happens!! The way he LOVEZ his crickets and mealworms the is gonna be CRAZY about grasshoppers I can just feel it!!! He owns me!! Life is too short to fit in!!

#ReesieCup says FRESH GRASS AND WEEDS ARE YUMMY DELUXE!!! He has come leaps and bounds since he moved in!! He is really coming in to himself!! Ronald Bullock just came running in the living room from his room yelling #ReeseBullock is on the ground!!! I said outside?? He responded YES HE IS DOWN IN THE GRASS!!! This is the FIRST TIME he has touched the grass since we picked him up!! He has been offered it since he was moved out to the big pen but it seems he had a fear of it almost like he didn’t know if it would suck him up like quick sand or what!! Yesterday #PennyRose was outside running around next to him.. Penny Rose is a big time hunter!! She is always hunting through the grass for bugs, grubs, roots, and yeah even grass she eats.. He watched her closely and I think that’s what gave him the confidence that he needed to check it out himself!! Whatever it is that gave him the courage I AM SUPER EXCITED and even to some degree PROUD!! I guess what makes me feel PROUD is knowing that without our efforts he would still be sitting in the 32X40X37 inch cage that he couldn’t even stand up straight in vs discovering what the world of #MonkHood should be like!! THANK YOU GOD FOR USING ME/US TO HELP PROTECT YOUR PRECIOUS BABIES!!! I PRAY YOU WILL CONTINUE TO USE Misfitland Monkey Rescue TO CHANGE THE LIFESTYLE AND HELP YOUR CRITTERS!! #ReesieCup the #AMAZING #IAm!!! #GuessWhat????? Today I got to spend the ENTIRE DAY with #MyGirl #PennyRose!! #TruthIs she spent the entire night out on the porch with me!! Well on the other side of the pen near me!! Recently #TheHuman has been putting Penny Rose, Ralphie D, and #AbbyLouise over at the other monk barn because I am feeling MUCH BETTER and acting a bit more like the monkey that #MyHuman expected me to act like that day she picked me up to bring me HOME!! Yep I shake cages and have even taken a couple swings from the cage at her but so far I haven’t gotten to land a good slap yet!! No worr I will keep trying #IThink!! I must admit at first when she says HEY YOU BE NICE TO YOUR MOM!! it takes all I have not to bust out laughing at her but then she immediately turned around and started blowing me kisses telling me to be her good boy, and it does make me second-guess my attitude.. It’s odd how that calms me down but I must admit I do respond well to her odd behavior.. I stayed out and supervised as she hung a twisty slide up on the other side of the cage.. The side Penny Rose was in today and last night .. I tried to tell her where I thought it would work best but WHATEVER!! She worked around and got it mounted #HerWay!! She better hope OSHA doesn’t show up to check this job out!! Geez!! Penny Rose and I respected each other today and that made my new #Humommy VERY HAPPY!! I did grab her and Hugg her supper duper tight when I saw my human coming because I KNEW she was going to take her and I didn’t want her to go!! The Human kept saying #ReeseBullock YOU BE NICE She will come back but you MUST allow her to come see #Mommy too!! I took a deep breath and allowed Penny to go inside WITH THE PROMISE THAT SHE IS COMING BACK TOMORROW!!! We will see if I can trust #TheseGirls!! HEY DO YOU HAVE A COUPLE EXTRA BUCKS TO HELP WITH SOME UTILITIES AND REPAIRS?? We would certainly appreciate ANY tax deductible donation will be MUCH APPRECIATED!!! I eat a LOT!!

#ReesieCup Bullock #TheHam #IAm!! Today I helped #TheHuman work on Ronald Bullock’s sink!! The old one is all rusted out and nasty looking!! #MyHuman found a sink basket that was really made for something else but she thinks it will make a great bathroom sink after she and I gets done customizing the thing!! See the one we are uniquely installing is DEEP with a pull out sprayer wonderful for washing hair or monkeys in!! We would have finished EXCEPT when she ran to Bethel to get a fernco and couple shut offs the hardware store was already closed !! SOOOOOOOOOOOO #RonnieBullock will have to brush his teeth in her bathroom tonight I reckon!! I saw them unload a BIG GREEN SOMETHING when they came back from the plumbing run!! I heard them saying how our caregiver Jenn Lewis had posted on Facebook that we needed tunnel slides and so far 2 people has contacted her about them!! SOOO now we will have a #SuperDeluxe slide in 2 different pens to play with!! That’s a WONDERFUL thing because I don’t know that I will EVER give up my pen!! I mean she leaves my door open while she cleans offering me to come out and help her and such but I choose to lay #UpHigh and watch right at the door but not outside of it!! What can I say I like it here with my comfortable hammock, toys, and television!! Why would I risk someone stealing my seat if I left it unoccupied??? #YesHello this isn’t my first big rodeo!! As a matter of fact I will stand up straight and tall right outside of my door outside and clap my little hands together.. #Humommy thinks it’s one of the cutest things she has ever seen when I do it!! She tells #MyRonnie that I am trying to scare the cats or maybe even them away.. Gosh the woman can be slow at times!!! What I am really saying is “GET ME A BANANNA!! A LITTLE FASTER IF YOU CAN STAND IT!!” but she just stands there saying how #Handsome I am!! Like I don’t already know!! Yep she is slower than #Christmas but #SheIsMine so I let it slide.. #SheLovesMe!! #MyMommy #TheGoodStuff!!

Wellllll it took weeks but Reese Bullock has FINALLY made a to the outside pen!! Ronnie Bullock and I was hauling brush when we spotted him FINALLY outside watching us!! I was overwhelmed with excitement to see him checking out his new surroundings.. I have spent MANY HOURS trying to coax him out and convince him he would be safe to come out but he didn’t seem to believe me.. He has been watching the other monkeys use their doors to enter and exit but he wasn’t trusting the sketchy door thingy!! I ended up breaking off one of his 2 doors while I was trying to show him how to come out so we were only using one door right now but he still wasn’t going to go out that one either.. I have had his other door propped up with a direct view of the beautiful outside but until now he has wanted nothing to do with it BUT THAT HAS NOW CHANGED!! Just like he refused to climb when he first moved in but overcome that he has now figured out that he can visit the outdoors without getting in trouble.. The super funny thing is when he first got here he wouldn’t climb at all.. YET A MONTH LATER HE WONT COME DOWN TO THE GROUND!! I don’t know WHAT he thinks that green grass is but he isn’t having that stuff touch his feet YET!! This guy is something else!! I thank God that he choose me to be his Human!! He owns me!! Life is too short to fit in!! THANK YOU FOR LOVING THEM!!!

OKAY I KNOW THIS DOESNT LOOK LIKE A BIG DEAL TO YOU BUT OMGOSH I HAVE WORKED SOOOOOO HARD TO MAKE THIS HAPPEN!!! Yes I do realize #ReeseBullock isn’t outside YET but he is sitting inside the tunnel box and that is HUGE!!! Yeah I know we have ran a small fortune up on the electric bill because of keeping the door propped open trying to convince him it’s OKAY and trustworthy outside but the best I have been able to do is get him to reach in the tunnel box and steal the bananas I have tried to fish him out with and RUN away with the prize.. He thinks it’s a trap or a set up I think.. I broke the second door completely off the other day, yeah just one more thing I gotta fix around here! Freaking hole is too small for me to be inside of begging him to come out!.. ANYWAY he can easily get out from where he is sitting it’s WIDE OPEN from there!!! Today MIGHT be the day he discovers the outside!!! Only time will tell.. CROSS YOUR FINGERS!! I will keep you posted

I’m so sorry we haven’t been posting. We’ve both had a ton going on this week. Today is Reese’s 9th Birthday !!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY REESE !!!! We hope this will be the start of many more HAPPY birthdays to come! We have been working behind the scenes to get T-shirts made so you can all celebrate him with us! Those will be available to order soon!

Reese Bullock is the newest troop member here at Misfitland Monkey Rescue.. He came here February 21, 2023 less than a month ago.. He was known as “Big Monkey” for the first 8 years of his life but Ronnie Bullock came home from school the day after we found out about him saying he thought we should call him “Reese” he said like a “Reesie Cup” SOOOOO every since he has been REESE in our life.. He is a gentle giant!! He has adapted VERY WELL!! When he first came he refused to climb!! YEP YOU READ THAT RIGHT!! A monkey that wouldn’t climb!! Odd right?? Not really because the cage he had been in didn’t have any place to climb up or anything to sit up on so climbing wasn’t really something he had done.. It took days for him to get up off the bottom of the inside cage I had originally placed him in to keep an eye on him inside.. After a week or so I could see he was peeing and pooping well.. He had also discovered climbing by that time.. Two mornings in a row he had slept in a hammock and had spent the entire past few days up high and had even climbed to the top before being moved out to the BIG PEN.. It was ODD because when he moved into the big pen he went back to not climbing again!! I think he was unsure if things would hold his weight.. I ended up setting him up a dog bed on the floor where he would sit on the edge of it with his little legs stretched out and his back straight and watch TV.. IT WAS SO CUTE!! I took my ladder in to the pen to make him feel more comfortable about climbing.. It worked!! He quickly went up the ladder and would sit on the ledge that will lead him to an outside freedom’s that he has never had the pleasure of experiencing YET!! After a few more days Reese started to climb on the chain link but still didn’t trust the monkey bars, hammocks, or swings!! I went out and into his outside pen trying to talk him into coming out with me.. I even propped the 2 doors he will go through wide open so he could see how it works even though he had been watching the other monkeys use their doorway in the pen next to him.. NOTHING!!! HES NOT READY FOR THE OUTSIDE YET!! Since then I see him watching me work out there often!! It won’t be long and he will be bolting in and out I have no doubt!! He now trust and uses his monkey bars and his hammocks!! HE LOVEZ HIS HAMMOCKS!!! I mean he REALLLLLLYYYYY LOVEZ IT!! There is one stuffed animal he really LOVEZ too.. He still isn’t using that sketchy swing but I believe in time he will be using it as well!! He LOVEZ his tub of water and enjoys washing his toys in it but the problem was he kept drinking out of it too!! SOOO I took the ladder over and leaned it up to the automatic watering spout that I had showed him MANY MANY MANY times!! Turns out he just wanted a ladder!! He has NO PROBLEM using it now!! I will go out and look at his floor and he will have a full blown stream running down the floor.. Endless water!!! What else could a monkey ask for?? His own personal endless water nozzle, a first and last name, and a personal door leading to the outside where he can get fresh air and interact with other animals are just a few of the things Reese got for his 9th birthday!! I THOUGHT the camera was recording when Ronnie brought the strawberry pie/cake in and we sung HAPPY BIRTHDAY to him but let me tell ya HE LOVED IT!!!! You can see it on his hands and all his gifts!! He was totally overwhelmed with IS ALL THIS FOR ME as we tried to make him check out all his new stuff.. Truth is I think he likes the Gatorade bottle full of super worms and crickets was his favorite!! Of course we all know FOOD is a favorite for any monkey so we got him a piñata and filled it with monkey chow, seeds, nuts, dog biscuits, and yogurt covered raisins.. THAT WAS A BIG HIT TOO!! He got his own tool pouch because ALL the monkeys enjoy helping me work and a tape measure is HOURS of fun for anyone!! I feel SO BLESSED that Reese Bullock is forever part of our troop!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY REESIE CUP!!!! WE LOVE YOU MORE THAN YOU KNOW!!! He owns me!! Life is too short to fit in!!

#ReeseBullock the HAPPY #IAm!! The #UPSTruck has been running its tires off going up and down the driveway and from what #TheHuman says it’s mostly in Honor of ME!! #HolySmokes do I feel SPECIAL!! I admit I have had a case of the chapped butt because she brought me out here onto the porch!! I was quite comfortable in the living room and never asked for more space!! Anyway it has taken a few days BUT I AM NOW CLIMBING AROUND ON THE THINGS OUT HERE INCLUDING THE HAMMOCK BED!! That was something that I had learned while living in the living room but didn’t realize there was a BIGGER one waiting for me out here.. I really like having something SOFT to lay on!! It feels AMAZING on my bones!! #MyHuman bust out laughing at me when she sees some of the awkward positions I like to stretch my body into as I chill out watching TV.. She tells me that when Margosent her a memory foam bed she done the exact same thing for MONTHS!! She knows what it’s like to be able to stretch out body parts that ache in MUCH pain!! #ItFeelsSoGood it would be impossible to describe!! ANYHOO back to the UPS truck stuff!! OMGOSH I got me some #Gatorade that I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE!! I guzzled the first one not Stopping for air.. BUT WAIT THERES MORE!!! Lisa Rheumy sent me water toys that wind up and balls with toys in the middle that an be played with in the water as well… I love them all but to be PERFECTLY HONEST the vibrating teether is by far #MyFavorite!!! The inventor of this is a GENIUS no doubt!! I haven’t put it down yet!! I liked it to begin with but then when spun it around and it started to vibrate it was INSTANTLY MY FAVORITE TOY!! THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH LISA I LOVE YOUR TASTE IN GIFTS!!! There are other gifts that has arrived that I am excited to show you and tell you about but the Human wants to be able to take photos of them UP and working so she will have to make another post!! #ReeseBullock is on the porch!! He isn’t climbing like he was in the living room but it will come!! I look out and he will be sitting on his dog bed with his little legs all stretched out to the floor.. ITS ADORABLE!!! This is probably the largest space he has had to run around in his entire life AND HE HASNT EVEN REALIZED HE CAN GO OUTSIDE ANY TIME HE WANTS TO!!! I have showed him the door to the outside but he hasn’t checked it out yet!! He does watch #PennyRose go in and out of her door on the other side so I have no doubt he will figure it out with a quickness!! I can’t wait till he figures out he can get inside that ball pit with all them balls.. It’s always a big hit with the monkeys.. #TheGoodStuff #HeOwnsMe #LifeIsTooShortToFitIn

My name is #ReeseBullock.. I LOVE quail eggs, crickets, and super worms.. I also LOVE carrots, brussel sprouts, cauliflower, broccoli, and cucumbers.. To be honest there really isn’t much I don’t like!! I like my water but I LOVE my Gatorade!! #MyHuman has been watching me pee, IKR WEIRDO!! She says she’s convinced I am going to be alright because I am flowing well now!! I have been CLIMBING up and sitting on the hanging hammocks she put up for me!! I LIKE IT UP HERE!!! I feel more powerful and in control when I am up there!! As a matter of fact #TheHuman said she is gonna rework the pen on the porch for me and move me out there today!!! She speaks of me being able to go outside on my own ANY time I want to but I just can’t grasp how that could be possible!! I mean seriously going outside has been the ultimate no no my entire life!! WHAT could be so different now??? She also said something about being able to climb 12 foot in the air!! HOLY SMOKES!!! Right now climbing 12 inches has been a big deal.. I will have to build my muscle up to be able to hold my 28 pound body up in the air!! I know one thing for sure!! She better keep that television on when I move out!! Turns out I am a HUGE fan of the people in the box!! I never had my own television before and OMGOSH I NEVER PLAN TO LIVE WITHOUT ONE AGAIN!!! You will notice in most of my photos THAT is what I am looking at!! Seriously!! Oh I could just watch these monkeys all day every day! I love them. Reese is making really super progress and has been climbing a lot and spending most of his time up on the hammocks. Yes, he’s climbing!!! As you can see, he’s still a bit skittish but warming up! His Humommy says he’s been having lots of pees and a little poop. He looooves the crickets as you can see he can’t get them in his mouth fast enough .

Meet Reese Bullock!! He now lives here at Misfitland Monkey Rescue in Moscow Ohio.. Reese is 8 years old.. He will be 9 on March 17, 2023.. Reese has been living in Virginia with a fella, a couple cats, and a marmoset monkey until now.. Reese has spent a lot of time in a small cage and that’s where he feels safest and most comfortable at.. He is starting to venture out of the time out cage in the living room area.. I put him inside to be able to watch his bathroom habits closely just to make sure everything is functioning properly before releasing him out where I won’t be able to keep as close of an eye on it.. The way he is so sketchy about being out it’s probably better to be in here where he can learn to trust me and the environment.. There is a LOT more happening here than where he came from and I can see how that could be overwhelming within itself.. I am SO IMPRESSED by how well he is adapting and accepting things!! I am looking forward to watching him bust out of his shell and getting to hunt and play outside!! He is already enjoying laying up high on the hammocks in the small cage inside!! WAIT TILL HE GETS OUT IN HIS 12’ ENCLOSURES WITH THOSE SWINGS AND HAMMOCKS!!! I think I am way more excited about it than he is!! LOL!! He owns me!! Life is too short to fit in!!

OMGOSH SOMEONE SENT THE GORILLA CART FROM THE WISHLIST!!! I am SO EXCITED!!This thing has a dump bed that will be great for SOOOOO MANY THINGS!!! I locked the other monkeys up and put a leash on #ReeseBullock and asked him if he wanted to help me put it together.. He didn’t get NEARLY as upset about me putting his lead on as I thought he would.. He has never worn a belt or leash before.. He didn’t come out at all while I was sitting there next to him BUT WATCH HIM WHEN HE THINKS I AM GONE!! He quickly makes his move as soon as I am outta his sight!! Then he goes back in as I cut through until I headed out to the porch before sneaking back out again… WATCH THAT LITTLE FOOT LOOKING FOR SOMETHING SOLID TO STAND ON!! I will put a step there for him next time I promise.. ISNT HE HANDSOME?????

This is Reese Bullock aka Reesie Cup.. He just came to Misfitland Monkey Rescue one week ago today.. He is 8 years old with his 9th birthday coming up March 17 next month.. He grew up in Virginia with a marmoset monkey.. He was called Big Monkey and the marmoset is called Little Monkey.. Ronnie Bullock came home from school the day after we found out about him and had already decided he wanted to call him Reese.. He is starting to realize we are speaking only to HIM when he hears it but he certainly responds when I say whatcha doin BIG guy!! One thing for sure he IS a BIG one!! He is 28 pounds and HUGE compared to the Java macaques.. He hasn’t been around other macaques until now and doesn’t seem to know how to climb.. Watch him feel around with his little foot looking for something solid to put his weight down on.. I honestly felt guilty for putting him in the inside “timeout” cage.. No one really STAYS in that cage but it is good for when they are sick, arguing, or needing to be watched closely.. In this case I am watching for him to pee and poop and to overall get a grasp on his health, eating, and drinking.. SO FAR EATING AND DRINKING IS NOT A ISSUE!!! He absolutely LOVEZ carrots, broccoli, cauliflower, brussels sprouts, cucumbers, monkey chow, peanuts, pistachios, almonds, walnuts, sunflower seeds, and the whole bird mix.. He absolutely devours his breakfast bowl with the scrambled eggs, cheese, bacon, sausage, and potatoes.. He is drinking well and is seems to be getting well hydrated.. I even noticed while making this video a long string like something coming down by his private and some drops coming from it.. This is WONDERFUL news showing the body is starting to flush itself naturally with the natural resources put in it.. LETS PRAY THAT HIS BODY FUNCTIONS WORK PROPERLY WITHOUT FURTHER TREATMENT AND HE CAN BUST OUT OF HERE TO THE OUTSIDE AND BASK IN THE SUNSHINE HUNTING THROUGH THE GRASS.. I had set this camera up while I put together the TOTALLY AWESOME GORILLA DUMP CART SOMEONE SENT FROM THE WISH LIST while offering him to come out and help me.. I put the leash on him and opened his door begging him to come out with me.. He was very reluctant to even put his head out the door regardless of the open offer.. THAT IS UNTIL I HAD TO GO GET CHANNEL LOCKS!!! I cracked up when I watched this video.. I new he put his head out the door when I got up but I had NO IDEA that he was so curious and literally hanging out the door several times while I was gone.. I was watching him with that little foot reaching down, trying to find somewhere solid to put it, and I felt guilty that I had not put a step there.. I will next time I promise you!! He owns me ALREADY!! Life is too short to fit in!!

We had our monthly board meeting yesterday and I got this video of Teresa loving on Reese and him just sitting there soaking it all up! He is doing great and got to socialize a bit with people being around outside the cage and he loves his toys and comfy blankets and got some tasty snacks! This looks like a good sign he will be a sweetheart who just really needs all the love we can give

OMGOSH #ReeseBullock got to try out his FIRST GIFT FROM A FAN!!! #AnnettaEbelhar sent some applesauce and nuts for the #MonkKidz not even realizing that SHE would be the first one to gift the #NewGuy!! It didn’t take him to long to figure out how to get the applesauce out of the container.. HES BRILLIANT!!! After taking him in to be fixed I was able to get him into the cage that would fit in the car with me!! Of course he was higher than groceries on the way home so I don’t know how much of the scenery he will remember but it made me feel better knowing he was in the front of the car with me vs drug along behind me in an enclosed trailer.. He did well at the vet exam and overall seems healthy EXCEPT we had trouble finding his penis.. I was shaving him preparing for his surgery when I realized he didn’t have a private!! I think Doc thought I was being silly or exaggerating.. If you watch this video Dehydrated Monkey Issues

Due to the diet and lack of water I am keeping a CLOSE eye on him to make sure he is pooping and peeing OKAY before turning him out into a bigger pen.. SO I cleaned up the time out cage real good and put him in it to be able to better monitor what is going on with him.. I was excited to turn him loose in the new cage!! Even though it is only a parrot cage it is still about 3 or 4 times bigger than he was in for over 5 years so it has to be an improvement!! I hung a soft bed, a banana hammock, and 2 other hammocks to lay on.. I was thinking about how he was going to like the comfort!! He has been on WIRE until it totally rusted away.. This HAS to be exciting to him I thought!! But I was wrong!!! Turns out the poor guy doesn’t know how to climb!! He is STILL sitting on the bottom of the cage!! He acted a couple of times like he was going to climb up but quickly sits back down!! I w ended up gathering some blankets for him and putting them on the cage bottom for him to sit on.. He has figured out that sitting on them is more comfortable than sitting on the wire!! On Tuesday when I picked him up he would move them to be touching the wire… I noticed today he is sitting on top of them!! I guess this is going to be a journey of baby steps but we will get there

ITS A BOY!!! #ThisGuy has stolen my heart!! They called him #BigMonkey but #RonnieBullock gave him his very own name!! He came home from school the day after we found out about him and said I think we should name him Reese like a #ReesieCup!! I think #ReeseBullock is a great name!! SOOOOO here I present to you #ReesieCupBullock!! The monkey that doesn’t know how to climb!! We are going to make the rest of his life the BEST of his life

#RonnieBullock and I have been working day and night since we found out #ThisGuy needed us in order to get him here!! The fella who owned him has had him his entire life of 8 years and for the last 5 plus years he has been locked IN THE CAGE YOU SEE HIM IN NOW!!! Yep you read that right FIVE PLUS YEARS!! The dimensions of the cage is 32 inches wide by 40 inches long and 37 inches tall.. When I watched the video of him getting the gifts we sent him out I realized just how incredibly small the cage actually is!!! This made me think about him 24/7 knowing I HAD to help him!!! His cage was so small he couldn’t have toys or blankets because his human said he would pee or poop on them.. I asked the fella to measure his doorway!! I told him I thought it would fit out of it with him in it removing the issue of trying to move him from one cage to another!! He was of course, telling me that the bottom was gone but I told him I could fix it enough to get by.. Upon arrival to get him we had to cut some trees and limbs out of the driveway to be able to gain access to him.. Then I walked in and saw the “BIG MONKEY” that was what his owner called him.. He hadn’t ever had his OWN name until now.. I couldn’t believe that cage was holding that big guy in it!! The entire bottom of the cage rusted out over the years from the urine and feces.. He had placed concrete blocks around him and on top of the cage in an effort to keep him contained and somehow it worked.. The cage is bent and beaten from all the years of him trying to escape but other than the bottom seems solid… When I asked about his eating habits I was told he would lay bread, bananas, and oranges on top of the cage for him to grab and eat.. The fella also told me he likes yams.. He said he would give him a can of yams and he will dip his bread into it to eat.. When I asked what he likes to drink and how does he drink I was told he drank out of a water bottle.. I had brought a water bottle for him and asked Ronnie to run up and put something in it for him to get a drink.. When Ronnie came back with the bottle and offered it to him he didn’t move towards it.. Suddenly the fella says he kinda quit drinking a while back.. I asked what he meant?? He said he quit offering it because he didn’t want it or would tear it up.. I said SO HOW DOES HE GET FLUIDS??? He said he gets his moisture from the bananas and oranges.. I gave him the entire bottle to keep in his cage with him and then I stopped and got him a cup of ice and a thing of water until we got home.. THEN I got him a BIG green bowl and put a bunch of water in it for him to play in.. HE WAS STILL PLAYING WITH IT WHEN I WENT TO BED!! He keeps dipping his little hand down into it and licking it back off.. His bottom has a problem.. Not sure if it’s from the cage floor rusting too it or the years of sitting on metal but the doctor is going to have to check it out.. This morning he totally munched out on the cauliflower, broccoli and carrots!!! I don’t guess he had ever had that before according to his owner.. He MUNCHED OUT!!! He has a doctors appointment coming up to be fixed and physically checked out.. THEN ITS NOTHING BUT SUNSHINE AND RAINBOWS FOR THIS GUY!! He has served his time to say the least!! Now it’s time for him to just ENJOY the rest of his life.. His birthday is March 17, 2014.. He will be 9!! This year he got a NAME and a HOME as a gift!! Don’t worry!! He will have his first birthday celebration this year too!!! We are going to make the REST OF HIS LIFE the BEST OF HIS LIFE!!!
This is Ronnie’s first time getting to pick up a rescue!! He is overly excited about having Reese home and the thought that HE will be/is the one changing his life for the better!! HONESTLY THERE ISN’T ANY BETTER FEELING IN THE WORLD!! #TheyOwnMe #TheGoodStuff #LifeIsTooShortToFitIn

Out here trying to clean the car out and get things loaded and moved around for the #NewGuy!!! We are doing everything in our power to make it happen!! This guy is about to have the BESTEST SPRING OF HIS LIFE!!! I took #PennyRose over a couple toys out of the car, and I was looking at her little fingers from where she is playing in the grass and digging in the dirt, and I wondered to myself if he has ever gotten this opportunity??? I know for the past 4 to 5 years he has been in the cage that he is in now but I am not sure what all things he done prior to that… It was neat with #LouieRay, because even though he was 17 when I got him everything seem to be a new experience for him..  I am thinking #ReesieCup, a.k.a. #Reese as per #RonnieBullock  will be a lot like that as well.. I #ThankGod for giving me the opportunity to be an important part of these animals lives.. I also think him extremely much for the people like you that love and support these animals as much as I do!!! We are going to make the rest of his life, the best of his life!!! This road trip is going to be extremely expensive to say the least!! we are going over eight hours in one direction then we have to go a distance in another direction to get to a vet with a health certificate to enter Ohio.. Then we have to come all the way back.. It will be a 20 plus hour trip.. We have to pull a trailer as well in order to remove him in the cage that he is in and have tools and equipment to make sure everything is secure.. ANY donations to help with gas, food, and bills would be more than appreciated.. It would help if we could stop and get a couple hours sleep but we will see how that goes!! SAY A PRAYER FOR US AND THE #NewGuy!! I have solar lights charging, but I’m not sure how long they will last in that trailer for him to see.. I know he is going to be frightened, and I hate that he won’t be in the vehicle with us!! There is no windows in this trailer and in some ways that is good because I don’t want him to be cold, but I also don’t want him to be scared of the dark.. hopefully the darkness will just allow him to sleep and rest.. He has NO IDEA that he is about to meet some LIFE LONG FAMILY/TROOP!! I think him and Penny Rose are going to be on the same energy level and that will be good!! God knows she needs someone to keep up with her

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY FROM ALL IS AT Misfitland Monkey Rescue This year I am asking #ThisGuy to be my Valentine!! He is a Reeses Macaque that is eight years old.. they call him big monkey because they have a second monkey that is a marmoset so they call it little monkey.. #RonnieBullock has already started calling him Reese like a Reesie cup he says.. We send him a care package that had a shirt that Ronnie had wore all day and a shirt that I had worn all day so he could get our sents.. We packed him a few toys from around here that would also have the monkeys sent on them as well.. We are not 100% sure when we will be able to pick him up because we are having trouble finding a vet in his area to get the travel paperwork done and him fixed and chipped.. That has to happen before he enters Ohio.. I know it’s hard to believe but I am already SO IN LOVE with him I can’t stand it!! He isn’t used to being handled although he was handled a lot as a baby.. I believe after he has enough time to get use to us that he will allow us to touch him but even if not we are Hoi tobLOVE him forever and make the rest of his life the BEST of his life!! Say a prayer for him!! Before long he will be part of #OurTroop!!! WHO ELSE IS EXCITED??????
